Every crystal in my studio has a story.
Some I have sourced myself — held in my hands in markets and mineral shows, felt their weight and their particular quality of stillness, known before I could articulate it that they belonged with this work. Others have found me — gifted by clients, by fellow practitioners, by people who somehow knew.
I say this not to romanticise objects, but because I think it matters. The intention with which a crystal is held, cared for, and used is not separate from what it carries.
Everything is energy.
That includes the hands that have touched a stone, and the heart behind the hands.
Why Crystals Work
Crystals are among the most geometrically precise structures in the natural world. Their atomic lattices are ordered in ways that give them remarkable stability and, as a consequence, remarkable coherence. When you introduce a chaotic or disrupted energy field into proximity with that coherence, something shifts. The field begins to entrain — to organise itself toward greater order.
This is not metaphor. It is physics. Piezoelectric properties — the ability of certain crystals to generate electrical charge when under pressure — are the reason quartz is used in watches, microphones, and medical ultrasound equipment. The coherent oscillation of crystal is not a spiritual claim. It is measurable fact.
What spiritual practice has long understood, and what science is slowly catching up to, is that this coherence extends into the subtle energy domain — the biofield, the chakra system, the living field of awareness that surrounds and permeates the physical body.
How Crystals Are Used in a Reiki Synergy Session
In my sessions, crystals are not decorative. They are working instruments — placed with intention at specific energy centres, held in the field to amplify or direct energy, chosen intuitively based on what I read in each client's energy body before we begin.
Different crystals carry different frequencies and serve different functions:
Clear Quartz — The master amplifier. Enhances the intention of any healing work and helps to clarify and direct energy with precision. I use clear quartz to amplify Reiki flow and to support the
activation of higher-frequency awareness.
Amethyst — Connected to the third eye and crown chakras, amethyst supports intuition, clarity, and the quieting of the overthinking mind. Particularly valuable for clients whose nervous systems are in chronic overdrive.
Rose Quartz — The stone of the heart chakra. Where there has been loss, heartbreak, self-criticism, or a long disconnection from love, rose quartz creates a field of warmth and gentle opening
that the heart responds to without being pushed.
Black Tourmaline — Grounding, protective, and clearing. Used to anchor energy in the root chakra and to help release what the body and field no longer need.
Citrine — Solar, bright, energising. Aligned with the solar plexus, citrine supports personal power, confidence, and the dissolution of stagnant energy that shows up as low motivation or a sense of being stuck.
Selenite — Exceptionally high vibration, deeply clearing. I use selenite to move energy through the field quickly and to create a quality of luminosity in the session — a sense of lightness and opening
in the upper chakras and crown.
Lapis Lazuli — Truth and authentic expression. For clients who have been silencing themselves, lapis supports the throat chakra and the courage to speak what is real.
There are others — my collection is extensive, personally curated, and constantly in conversation with the work. What appears in a session is always guided by what is needed.
The Crystal–Reiki Synergy
Reiki and crystal energy amplify each other in the same way that sound healing and Reiki do — not by doing the same thing, but by creating a combined field that is greater than either alone.
The Reiki sets the intention and direction of healing. The crystals hold the frequency. Together they create an environment in which the body's own healing intelligence — which is always there, always working, often simply overwhelmed — can come forward and do what it was designed to do.
This is why I call what I offer Reiki Synergy Sessions. The word synergy is precise. It means the whole exceeds the sum of its parts. That is exactly what happens when these modalities are woven together with skill and genuine intention.
Crystals in Remote Sessions
Crystals are physically present in my studio during remote sessions, held within the healing space as I work. The field that forms around us during a Zoom session is real — and the crystals that inhabit that field contribute to it, regardless of the distance between my studio and wherever you are in the world.
Many remote clients report sensing the energy of specific stones — a warmth, a tingling, a particular quality of calm or activation — before I have mentioned which crystals I was working with.
The field speaks before words do.
