Breathing with Intention

The simplest act available to you is also the key that turns you from Victim into Creator. Breath is how you remember who you are.
Begin
Of everything I teach, nothing is more foundational than the breath. We are born breathing and we leave this body on an exhale, and in between those two moments we are given somewhere near twenty thousand breaths a day, almost all of them taken unconsciously.
I want to offer you a different relationship with breath. Not as something that simply happens to keep you alive, but as the most direct tool you have to reset your nervous system, open your awareness, and remember that you are a Creator, not a Victim of your circumstances. Breath is the key. Breathing with intention is the act of turning it.
And here is what makes this practice so quietly powerful: when you lift your own energy through conscious breath, you are not the only one who benefits. The field around you shifts. The people you live with, work with, pass on the street, all of them meet a slightly different version of you, a calmer, clearer, more coherent one. A single daily practice of intentional breath becomes a gift you give to everyone in your orbit, whether they ever know it or not.

THE SACRED MECHANISM

The Spine Becomes an Antenna

Here is the teaching I return to again and again. Each breath does not stay in the lungs. It creates a subtle pumping rhythm that draws cerebrospinal fluid up and down the length of the spine, washing into the chambers of the brain with every cycle of inhale and exhale.
When that flow is full and unobstructed, it is said to carry a current of energy upward into the pituitary and pineal glands, the seats of intuition and inner sight. This is the spark of consciousness arriving home. In this moment, the spine stops being simply structural and becomes what it was always meant to be: an antenna, tuned to receive and broadcast conscious energy.
Through that open channel, your higher self, the silent observer behind your thoughts, your soul, is able to send and receive information. This is how guidance arrives. This is how you sense a decision before you can explain it. This is higher awareness, and it is built one conscious breath at a time.

Breath Is How You Return to Creator Mode

I teach Four Levels of Consciousness: Victim, Creator, Channel, and Unity. Most of us spend our days unconsciously cycling near the bottom of that scale, reacting to circumstance rather than shaping it. Breath is the fastest door I know between those states.
One slow, intentional breath interrupts the reactive pattern. A few minutes of conscious breath each day begins to retrain which state you default to. Breathing is the most important thing we can do to reset ourselves into the Creator we truly are.

A Simple Practice

Four-Count Conscious Breath
  • Sit comfortably with your spine long, as though a thread gently lifts the crown of your head.
  • Inhale slowly through the nose for a count of four, feeling the breath travel down into the belly.
  • Hold gently for a count of four, without strain.
  • Exhale slowly through the nose or mouth for a count of four, releasing fully.
  • Rest for a count of four before the next inhale. Repeat for five to ten rounds, noticing the spine, the stillness, the shift.
A gentle note: practice in a seated, supported position, and never strain or force the breath. If you feel light-headed, return to your normal breathing rhythm. If you are pregnant or living with a respiratory or cardiac condition, please check with your physician before beginning any new breathing practice.

Breath, Explained

What does it mean to breathe with intention?
It means bringing full, conscious awareness to each inhale and exhale rather than letting breath run on autopilot. It is slow, deep, deliberate breath used as a tool to shift the nervous system, the energy body, and the state of consciousness.
How does breath affect the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the body?
Deep, rhythmic breathing creates a pumping action that helps draw cerebrospinal fluid up and down the spinal column and into the chambers of the brain. Shallow, restricted breath limits this natural circulation, while slow conscious breath supports and amplifies it.
What is the connection between breath, the pituitary gland, and the pineal gland?
In this teaching, the spine is understood as an antenna. As breath draws fluid and energy upward toward the brain, it is said to reach the pituitary and pineal glands, the seats of intuition and higher perception, helping to open the channel through which higher self, soul, and inner guidance can be received.
Can breathing really change my state of consciousness?
Yes. Breath is one of the only autonomic functions we can consciously override, which makes it a direct doorway into the nervous system and the energy body. A few minutes of slow, intentional breath can shift you out of reactive, survival-based states and into a calmer, clearer, more expanded state of awareness.
How often should I practice intentional breathing?
Even five to ten minutes a day, practiced consistently, is enough to begin retraining the nervous system and deepening awareness. Many people find it most powerful first thing in the morning, before sleep, or as a reset in the middle of a stressful day.
Is intentional breathing connected to Reiki and energy healing?
Breath is foundational to Reiki and to the Heart and Mind Coherence work I teach. Conscious breath is what allows the body to relax enough to receive energy, and it is one of the core tools used to prepare students before Reiki attunements and sessions.
