INFINITE ENERGY SOURCE · KEN BREEN

42 Degrees of Light

light ✦ frequency ✦ vibration ✦ Consciousness

"When white light is refracted, the One becomes the Many, that the Many may remember they are One.".

THE GREAT REVELATION

One Light. Seven Colours. Infinite Wisdom.

Long before Isaac Newton stood a prism in a darkened room and watched a beam of ordinary sunlight fan into seven distinct bands of colour, people standing beneath open skies had already understood the message. A rainbow is not painted onto the sky — it is white light, revealed. Every raindrop acts as a tiny prism, bending and reflecting sunlight so that what was always hidden inside a single beam becomes visible, arranged in the same sacred order, without exception.
That order — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — mirrors the sequence many spiritual traditions use to describe the body's own energy centres running from earth to sky. The rainbow in the heavens and the rainbow said to move through the human body are expressions of one principle: a single source of light or life-force, becoming visible in its fullness when given the right conditions.

"The rainbow is the visible song of the invisible."

THE HARMONIC TRUTH

This page is an invitation to stand at that intersection — where the physics of light, the chakra system of the ancient yogis, the rainbow body teachings of the Himalayan masters, and the earth-wisdom of indigenous peoples all point to the same place. And to understand how Ken Breen brings that living knowledge into practical healing for people today.

THE FULL PICTURE

The Harmonic Spectrum of the Rainbow

The diagram below maps each colour of the visible spectrum to its wavelength in nanometres, its frequency in terahertz, its musical note, its chakra, its sacred geometry, and its qualities of consciousness — seven keys to a single octave of light.

Light · Frequency · Vibration · Consciousness — "Nothing is missing. Every colour has a place."

THE SCIENCE OF THE SACRED

Why Exactly 42 Degrees?

A rainbow always appears at roughly 42 degrees from the point directly opposite the sun — a result so consistent that no two people ever stand in the exact same rainbow. Each observer's eye is the apex of a unique cone of light, making every rainbow a private revelation.

42°

The Red Arc
Red light exits a raindrop at approximately 42 degrees — the widest angle of the visible spectrum, forming the outer edge of the rainbow.

40°

The Violet Arc
Violet light bends more steeply, exiting at close to 40 degrees — sitting on the innermost edge, nearest the invisible.

7

Colours — Always Seven
The same seven wavelengths, always in the same order. What appears as one white beam is already a perfect spectrum, waiting to be seen.

"As the spectrum divides, the One shines through every hue."

THE HARMONIC TRUTH

A glass prism does the same work in miniature: slow down white light, offer it a new medium, and it separates — not because anything new is added, but because each wavelength has always been its own frequency, travelling at its own pace. What the prism does is give each one the space to become visible. This is not a metaphor — it is physics. And physics, here, is also poetry.

THE BODY'S OWN SPECTRUM

The Seven Chakras — A Living Rainbow

In yogic and tantric traditions, the chakras are wheels of subtle energy arranged along the spine — seven stations from earth to sky, each with its own colour, frequency, theme, and quality of consciousness. Their sequence exactly mirrors the visible spectrum.
MULADHARA Root — Red
620–750 nm · ~400 THz · Note: C
Stability, strength, vitality and presence. Your anchor in the earth. The deepest note of the spectrum — long, slow, grounding.
SVADHISTHANA Sacral — Orange
590–620 nm · ~484 THz · Note: D
Passion, pleasure, creativity and motion. The current of life moving through you, always seeking expression.
MANIPURA
Solar Plexus — Yellow
570–590 nm · ~508 THz · Note: E
Willpower, joy, clarity and purpose. The fire at the centre of the body that turns experience into direction.
ANAHATA Heart — Green
495–570 nm · ~526 THz · Note: F
Compassion, healing, balance and harmony. The fulcrum of the rainbow — three colours below, three above — love as the pivot point.
VISHUDDHA Throat — Blue
450–495 nm · ~606 THz · Note: G
Communication, integrity and resonance. The centre where inner truth becomes outward sound.
AJNA Third Eye — Indigo
425–450 nm · ~668 THz · Note: A
Perception, wisdom and inner vision. Seeing beyond what the eyes report — the frequency that bridges known and unknown.
SAHASRARA Crown — Violet
380–425 nm · ~700 THz · Note: B
Surrender, awareness, oneness and transcendence. Violet returns us to unity — the journey completes the circle.

"Each colour is a facet of the One Light. When we align with all, we remember our wholeness. We are the rainbow."

THE SOUL OF THE SPECTRUM

The Harmonic Truth

LIGHT IS VIBRATION.
VIBRATION IS SOUND.
SOUND IS CONSCIOUSNESS.
Consciousness is creative.
THE RAINBOW IS
the visible song
of the invisible.
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW.
AS WITHIN, SO WITHOUT.
The One shines through every hue.
Nothing is missing. Every colour has a place.Every note contributes to the chord. Every part belongs to the whole.

Ancient Knowing

Three Traditions, One Understanding

The rainbow has never been only a meteorological event. Across the world's oldest living wisdom traditions, the same image appears: light dividing into many, revealing the truth of the one. These were not beliefs arrived at in isolation — they were observations, carried through millennia of direct experience of the world as a teacher.
Tibetan Himalayan Masters — The Rainbow Body
Within Dzogchen and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, the highest teaching is known as the 'ja' lus — the rainbow body. It describes the dissolution of a fully realised practitioner's physical form into light at the time of death, sometimes reported to be accompanied by rainbow phenomena visible in the sky.
The teaching is not merely about dying — it is a map of what the body and mind are capable of when decades of meditation reveal the luminous nature of consciousness itself. The body was always light. Practice is simply the long process of remembering that.
"Train the mind as you would tend a flame — not to make it brighter, but to stop shielding it from itself."
HIMALAYAN MEDITATION TEACHING
The Hopi People — Rainbow as Promise
On the high desert mesas of Arizona, the Hopi have carried oral teachings for generations that hold the rainbow as a bridge between seen and unseen worlds — a sign of balance restored, and of the connection between different peoples and the earth they share.
Teachings sometimes described as the "Rainbow Nation" or "Rainbow Warrior" stories speak of a time when people of all backgrounds would come together, like the bands of a rainbow — many colours, one arc, one sky. The core message endures across many indigenous traditions of the Americas: the visible world is always also a teacher. Pay attention. There is a lesson in every colour.
"Watch the rainbow — not just to admire it, but to remember that all the colours come from one light, and all the people come from one earth."
HOPI ORAL TEACHING TRADITION
Indigenous Peoples Worldwide — The Living Earth
From the Andes to the Arctic, from Australia's First Nations to the forests of Central Africa, indigenous peoples have always lived within a worldview in which the physical world — land, weather, season, light — is not separate from spiritual reality. These are not "two worlds." They are one world, and the way light works is a lesson in how everything works.
Ceremony, song, dance, attention to the cycles of sun and moon — these were not decorations added to practical life. They were the technology of sustained awareness, refined across thousands of years. The same awareness that chakra practice, Himalayan meditation, and light-spectrum work are now rediscovering through modern language.
"The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves."

Ken Breen — Working With the Living Spectrum

The Prism Approach to Healing

For Ken Breen, the rainbow is not a symbol to be admired from a distance — it is a working model for how a human being functions. Just as a prism doesn't create colour but gives white light the conditions it needs to reveal what it already contains, Ken's work is built around creating the right conditions for a person's own life-force to become visible, balanced, and whole.
Drawing on the chakra framework as a practical map, the Tibetan understanding of subtle light within the body, and the indigenous principle that the visible world is always also a teacher, Ken brings together a set of grounded, practical modalities designed to help each person reconnect with their own internal spectrum — addressing areas of the body, mind, and field that feel dim, blocked, or out of sequence.
Every session is offered as an invitation rather than a prescription — much the same way a prism is simply held up to the light. What becomes visible has always been there. The work is in creating the conditions to see it.
Chakra Awareness & Mapping
Identifying which of the seven centres feels contracted, overactive, or dim — and working gently to restore the natural flow of energy from root to crown.
Breath & Light Meditation
Practices drawn from Himalayan meditation traditions — using breath, stillness, and inner visualisation to settle the mind and reveal the light that is always already present.
Grounding & Earth Connection
Drawing on indigenous principles of relationship with land, season, and cycle — anchoring energy work in the body and the present moment rather than in concept alone.
Frequency & Sound Work
Working with the musical notes aligned to each chakra — C through B across the octave of the visible spectrum — using sound as a direct route into the body's energetic field.
Colour & Symbol Awareness
Using the rainbow's natural sequence as a map for exploring emotional and energetic patterns — one colour, one centre, one layer of awareness at a time.
Rainbow Body Integration
Teachings drawn from Dzogchen and contemporary light-body practices — helping people experience themselves not as dense and fixed, but as luminous, spacious, and whole.

"We don't need to invent new light. We need to slow down enough to see the light that is already here, already moving through us."

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What People Ask

Why does a rainbow always appear at 42 degrees?
It comes down to the geometry of how sunlight bends inside a raindrop. Light enters the front of a raindrop, reflects once off the back, and exits — bending twice in the process. Because different wavelengths bend by slightly different amounts, red exits at approximately 42 degrees from the antisolar point, while violet exits at roughly 40 degrees. This is why red always sits on the outer edge, violet always on the inner, and the rainbow always appears in the same place relative to the sun regardless of where you stand.
What does "rainbow body" actually mean in Tibetan teaching?
In Dzogchen and Nyingma traditions, the rainbow body ('ja' lus) refers to the dissolution of a highly realised practitioner's physical body into light at the time of death — sometimes described as being accompanied by visible light or rainbow phenomena in the surrounding environment. It is held within these traditions as evidence that the body's true nature is luminous, and that sustained meditation practice gradually reveals this. As a teaching, it is also used more broadly as a reminder that what we take to be solid and fixed is, in its essential nature, light and spaciousness.
Do chakra colours actually match the colours of a rainbow?
Yes — the traditional sequence of chakra colours runs red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet from base to crown, which is exactly the same order as the visible spectrum from longest to shortest wavelength. This correspondence developed within yogic and tantric traditions over a very long period, and the parallel with the physics of light is widely used as both a teaching tool and a visualisation bridge. The Harmonic Spectrum diagram shown on this page also maps each colour to its wavelength, frequency in terahertz, and musical note — showing just how precise this alignment runs.
What is the significance of the 7 musical notes across the spectrum?
The visible spectrum contains seven primary colour bands (red through violet), and an octave of music contains seven primary notes (C through B). The correspondence — red to C, orange to D, yellow to E, green to F, blue to G, indigo to A, violet to B — has been used in various traditions to suggest that light and sound are expressions of the same underlying principle: vibration. Seven primary frequencies. A perfect interval. A sacred pattern. This is why sound and colour-based practices are often used together in energy work — they are reaching for the same tuning.
How do the Hopi teachings connect to chakras and light?
The Hopi have their own distinct teachings, developed independently of yogic or Tibetan traditions. What connects them here is a shared underlying understanding — present across many indigenous cultures — that the visible world carries lessons about balance, connection, and the relationship between the individual and the whole. The rainbow, in Hopi oral tradition, is a bridge between seen and unseen worlds, and a sign of balance restored. That idea — visible light as a teacher about invisible reality — is the same principle at work in both the chakra system and the rainbow body teachings.
What happens in a session with Ken Breen?
Sessions are tailored to the individual. Ken draws on chakra awareness mapping, breath and meditation practices, frequency and colour-based reflection, grounding work rooted in indigenous earth-connection principles, and where relevant, teachings from the rainbow body and light-body tradition. The focus is always on creating the conditions for a person to notice and work with their own energy and patterns — not imposing a system, but helping someone find their own way into the spectrum they already carry.
Do I need prior experience with meditation or energy work?
No. Sessions are designed to meet people where they are — whether this is a first encounter with these ideas or part of a long-established practice. The prism does not ask the light to prepare before it enters. It simply receives it, and what needs to become visible, becomes visible.
What is the electromagnetic context of the visible spectrum?
Visible light — the spectrum we see in a rainbow — sits between approximately 380 and 750 nanometres in wavelength. It is a tiny slice of the full electromagnetic spectrum, which extends far below into infrared, microwave, and radio waves, and far above into ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma radiation. As the Harmonic Spectrum diagram notes: the visible spectrum is a small part of the infinite. Beyond the eyes, the mystery continues. Our chakras may be tuned to the visible range, but the field that surrounds and interpenetrates the body extends well beyond what any eye can detect.
Is the "Harmony of the Seven" a spiritual or scientific concept?
It is both — and that is precisely the point. Seven primary colour frequencies. Seven primary musical notes. Seven chakras. A perfect octave. A sacred pattern. From a physics standpoint, seven visible colour bands is simply what happens when you disperse white light. From a consciousness standpoint, seven energy centres mapped to those same frequencies suggests that the body itself is tuned to the same octave as the light that surrounds it. Seven primary rays creating infinite combinations. This is the territory where science and spirit are no longer opposites — they are the same observation, described in different languages.
