There is a moment in a session when the crystal bowl sings — and everything shifts.The thinking mind quiets. The body exhales something it has been holding for months, sometimes years. The energy field opens in a way that words, no matter how kind or well-chosen, simply cannot produce.This is why sound healing is not an addition to my Reiki Synergy Sessions. It is woven into the very heart of them.
Why Sound and Reiki Belong Together
Reiki works with the subtle energy body — clearing, balancing, and restoring flow across the chakra system and the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of your being. It is intelligent energy, guided by intention and channelled through presence.Sound healing operates on a different but complementary principle. When a crystal singing bowl is struck, it emits a pure tone that resonates at specific frequencies. These frequencies don't just fill the room — they enter the body. They travel through water (and the body is approximately 60–70% water), through tissue, through bone, communicating directly with the nervous system and the cellular intelligence that western medicine is only beginning to understand.Together, Reiki and sound healing create a synergy — precisely why I call what I offer a Reiki Synergy Session. The Reiki clears the field. The sound deepens the opening. The two together take you somewhere a single modality alone rarely reaches.
What Each Crystal Bowl Activates
My practice works with crystal bowls tuned to the seven primary chakra frequencies. Each bowl corresponds to a specific energy centre:
Root Chakra (C note) — Safety, grounding, the body's relationship with the Earth. When the root bowl sounds, you may feel a deep settling, a sense of coming home to your physical form.
Sacral Chakra (D note) — Creativity, emotion, sensuality, the flow of life force energy. This bowl softens rigidity and invites feeling back into places that have been numb.
Solar Plexus (E note) — Personal power, will, identity. The solar plexus bowl can feel activating — a warmth in the core, a quiet strengthening.
Heart Chakra (F note) — Love, compassion, connection. Often the bowl that moves people most deeply. Tears are not uncommon here — and they are always welcome.
Throat Chakra (G note) — Truth, expression, authentic voice. Many people carry years of unexpressed words in this centre. The throat bowl gives them somewhere to go.
Third Eye (A note) — Intuition, clarity, inner vision. When this bowl plays, the mind often releases its grip and something quieter, wiser, takes over.
Crown Chakra (B note) — Connection to higher consciousness, to Source, to the field of infinite possibility that surrounds and includes us all.
In a Reiki Synergy Session, I read your field intuitively before choosing which bowls to work with, and in what sequence. No two sessions are identical — because no two people carry exactly the same energy in exactly the same configuration.

One of the questions I am asked most often is whether sound healing works in a remote session.
It does.
Energy is not confined by geography, and neither is sound. During remote Reiki Synergy Sessions via Zoom, I play the crystal bowls in my Footscray studio while you receive in your own space — your bedroom in Canada, your living room in the UK, your apartment in New York. Clients consistently report feeling the bowls as if they are in the same room. The field carries what the air would carry if you were here in person.
The body knows. It doesn't need an explanation. It simply receives.
